LIAMS Herbal Tree was founded out of our commitment to promote organically grown and ethically processed African herbal remedies on the global market.

Our mission is to find Africa’s most fantastic organic herbal remedies and deliver them to you as sustainably as possible. This process is borne of out of ethically moving a tea leaf, root or bark naturally through its entire life cycle thus creating a healthier herbal remedy and a healthier you.

At LIAMS Herbal Tree, our raw ingredients, either sourced directly or through intermediaries go through a 4- stage quality assurance process to ensure we only provide the highest quality of the finished products.

Stage 1 – Sourcing: The first stage begins at the point of sourcing the raw ingredients to ensure we only use ingredients which as are organically grown.

Stage 2 – Testing – On arrival at our processing facility, the ingredients are washed and dried, then subjected to rigorous testing in our certified laboratory, in accordance with NAFDAC and European Medicines agency guidelines testing of herbal substances. This includes amongst others toxicology and nutritional tests

Stage 3 – At this stage the herbs are cut and flavoured, where required, with natural flavouring elements, i.e. Berries, Honey, Lemongrass, Ginger etc. They are then packaged loosely using bio-degradable pyramid tea bags.

Stage 4 – The final stage of our quality assurance process is our taste test, which includes testing for the following – Pungency, Salt, Sour, Bitter & Sweet, this helps ensure the consistency of our products.

In addition, we meticulously manage our inventory of teas and store them in temperature controlled “cold” rooms, to maintain maximum freshness.

As eco-friendly organisation, we are committed to ensuring that we use materials which are not harmful to the environment. Hence, we offer our range of loose leaf teas in a biodegradable pyramid teabags. The tea bags are 100% natural and made from soilon, which is a bi-product of corn starch. This ensures that the soilon made pyramid tea bags can easily be broken down by micro-organisms present in the soil.

Our tea packs are made from recycled cartons and cards.
